Classification Of Sewing Machines

Classification of sewing machines

There are many ways of classifying sewing machines. It is common to distinguish between stitches and uses. The stitches of sewing machines can be classified into two categories: lock stitches and chain traces. Lock stitches are most common. They consist of two sutures, intertwined like rubbing rope, and intertwined in the middle of sewing material. From the cross section of the stitch, the two stitches are locked like two locks, so they are called lock stitches. This kind of stitch is used in sewing cotton, woolen fabric or leather with small shrinkage. The shape of front and back is the same as that of a dashed line. Stitching is densely distributed, sewing fastness is generally more than manual sewing.

Chain stitches are made up of self sustaining or interconnecting thread loops. They are commonly used in single chain, double line and three wire stitches. This stitch is characterized by its flexible stitch, which can be stretched with the stitching material and will not break the suture. It is suitable for the garments made of linear elastic fabric or loose products and blankets.
