France plans to implement the "environmental climate label" next year, which means that every garment sold needs to have a "label detailing its impact on the climate". It is expected that by 2026, other EU countries will introduce similar regulations one after another.

The French parliament has recently passed a "projet de LOI sur le climate", which aims at the five major industries of consumption, production and employment, travel, housing and food, to achieve the environmental protection goal set by EU Member States: by 2030, greenhouse gas emissions in the EU will be reduced by at least 55%.

In view of the consumer industry, Congress believes that good consumption habits are the key to improve the environmental impact. In order to let consumers better understand the impact of their purchase behavior on the environment, Congress decided to create an "environmental climate label" and required all consumer goods suppliers to add this label to their products, especially clothing suppliers.

"Environmental climate label" means that brands have to deal with many different and conflicting key data:

Where are the raw materials?

How is it grown?

How do you color it?

How far does transportation take?

Is the factory solar or coal?

Ademe is currently testing 11 proposals on how to collect and compare data to predict what labels might look like to consumers.

Erdan autret, ademe's coordinator, told AFP: the label will be mandatory, so brands need to be prepared to make their products traceable and the data can be automatically aggregated. "

In order to make the environmental impact of "a" and "e" in the table below, the environmental impact of "a" and "e" of the product are listed in the order of "a" and "e" There are five different colors: yellow, orange and red.

The "environmental protection score" system is formulated by L'Agence Fran ó aise de l'environnement et de la Ma î trise de l'ergie, abbreviated as "ademe"), which evaluates the whole life cycle of products and implements a 100 point scoring standard.

It is reported that the implementation plan of the climate bill was first submitted to the national assembly by Barbara pomplii, Minister of the French Ministry of ecological transformation, in February this year. On July 27, more than 60 members of parliament voted for the plan. At present, "environmental protection score" and "environmental climate label" are in the trial stage.
