The twisting element is compact, and the weight of the rotary yarn is light, so that the twisting speed can be very high. The rotor spinning machine integrates roving and ring spinning. It has directly fed the carding sliver to the rotor spinning machine and formed a joint production line.

The rotor spinning machine has increased the yarn output, but it still has a certain gap compared with the quality of the ring yarn. Reducing the diameter of the rotor can increase the speed and output, but it has a negative effect on the structure of the yarn. The strength of rotor spinning is lower, and the yarn hairiness and yarn friction resistance are reduced compared with ring yarn, making weaving efficiency more efficient than conventional ring yarn. Rotor spinning machine has low energy consumption and long service life of components. The main disadvantage is that rotor spun yarn is still wrapped and spun, and some fibers can not be embedded in the yarn, which affects the strength of rotor spun yarn. However, these fibers can be controlled by optimizing the speed of the rotor and the twister, but they can not be eliminated. The speed of the rotor will continue to increase, thereby improving productivity. Rotor spinning speed can reach 170000 rpm at present, and the diameter has been reduced to 28 mm. Rotor spinning is better than ring spinning, but the relevant parts must be improved to further improve the spinning quality. Rotor spinning is more competitive than ring spinning because of its better spinning economy, and the improvement of each ring spinning technology is a new competition for rotor spinning.

The diameter of the rotor must exceed the length of the fiber to ensure the quality of the spinning. Therefore, the diameter of the rotor with a high spinning speed is 3.175 cm, which can be used to produce cotton fibers, but not suitable for wool fibers, because the length of the wool fiber is basically 10.16 centimeters (4 inches). Larger rotor needs to be applied, which restricts the speed of the rotor. To break, cut or cut fibers, the length of fiber is not ideal, and the ratio of length / rotor diameter does not suit and worsen the problem of hairiness, so that more short fibers are extended to the outside of the yarn.
