China'S Textile Industry Has Steadily Improved Its Technological Innovation Capability.

In the middle of eighteenth Century, Hargreaves, a textile worker, invented the Jeanne spinning machine and opened the curtain of the first industrial revolution of mankind.

In December 6th, a conference on "textile" and "technology" as the key word -- the 2019 China Textile Industry Federation (hereinafter referred to as China Textile Union) science and Technology Education Award conference was held in Beijing. Xia Lingmin, vice president of China Textile Association, said at the meeting: the first three industrial revolution, the textile industry has never been absent; the fourth industrial revolution, the textile industry will not be absent, and the Chinese textile industry will not be absent.

Historically, the integration of industry and new technology has the most historical origin in the textile industry. With the rapid development of science and technology, continuous absorption of new technologies and active integration into the development trend of science and technology to keep the industry's continuous innovation is the only way to ensure China's textile industry to remain invincible.

"The textile industry has become one of the few industrial sectors with the capability of closed-loop innovation in the whole industry chain. The systematic innovation advantage makes the Chinese textile industry increasingly become an important source of global textile technology innovation." Sun Ruizhe, President of China Textile Union, said that the technological innovation of the industry has entered the coexistence stage of "follow up, run and lead" from "run to run". Industry R & D investment and innovation output have been greatly improved. In 2018, the R & D intensity of textile enterprises above designated size was 0.9%, which was two times that of 2011.

According to the fourth national economic census (2018) data, 329 thousand enterprises in China's textile industry accounted for 9.5% of the total industry, accounting for 10.1% of the manufacturing industry, 11 million 32 thousand of the total number of employees, accounting for 9.6% of the total industry, accounting for 10.5% of the manufacturing industry, 54 million 600 thousand tons of textile fiber added to China, accounting for more than half of the total world fiber processing, and China's textile and clothing exports amounted to 276 billion 730 million US dollars, accounting for more than 36% of the world's total.

"The textile industry will become one of the most potential industries in China to take the lead in entering the world's manufacturing power." Li Ling, vice president of China Textile Association, said that China's textile industry has become the largest industrial sector and the most complete industrial system in the world, from raw material supply, design and research to textile processing, finishing, operation and sales. The capability of independent innovation in the industrial chain has been continuously improved, and significant breakthroughs have been made in the fields of high performance, high functional fiber materials, high-end equipment manufacturing and industrial textiles.

"Compared with 5 years ago, the number of employees in China's textile industry decreased by 3 million 675 thousand, total assets increased by 404 billion 700 million yuan, and the per capita assets increased by 150 thousand yuan, which fully reflects the effectiveness of science and technology in improving the quality and efficiency of the industry." According to Li Lingshen, since 2011, 28 scientific and technological achievements in the whole industry have won the national science and technology award, among which two have won the first prize of national science and technology progress. "Innovation driven technology industry, culture led fashion industry and responsibility oriented green industry" have become the new positioning and strategic focus of China's textile industry to promote high-quality development.

At the 2019 Frankfurt industrial textiles exhibition, the "city life - the future city" exhibition space showed people's high-tech textiles in the fields of intelligent textile, architecture and civil engineering, automobile, medical, sports and dangerous protection, presenting a brilliant future textile world. International authoritative survey shows that Chinese consumers are leading the world in identifying new technologies. More than half of the surveyed Chinese consumers are very interested in new technology. Whenever new products are launched, they will take the lead in buying, which is far higher than the global average of 29%.

Li Ling said that in the field of textile and clothing, the integration of technology and fashion will be more obvious. The textile industry must maintain its initiative in the wave of "technological revolution" and "consumption upgrading". We must constantly strengthen the applied research and industrial promotion of new technology and other technologies such as new materials, new technologies, and carry out scientific and technological research in four major directions, namely, new fiber materials, advanced textile products, green manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing.

In order to give full play to the leading role of scientific and technological innovation, improve the quality of textile science and Technology Award and create the brand of textile science and technology award, the China Textile Federation has made great adjustments to the 2019 Textile Technology Award. The textile technology award has awarded 6 technical invention awards, among which 2 are the first prize, two are 4; and the scientific and technological progress award is 77, among which 15 are the first prize, two are 62; and the Special Contribution Award (the mulberry scholar) is 4. The proportion of awards has been greatly reduced, and the "gold content" has been significantly improved.

According to Li Lingshen, this year's award-winning standards and testing items not only reflect the innovative achievements of new material basic data research, textile function and detection technology, but also highlight the international discourse power of China's textile industry in terms of technology and standards. In addition, this year's award-winning science and technology projects, 2/3 belongs to the achievements of synergy innovation of industry, University and research, industrial chain, and further reflects the importance of collaborative innovation and cross integration for scientific and technological progress.
