Global Chemical Fiber Industry

In the past 70 years, China has become one of the second largest economies in the world from a poor and weak country. After more than 60 years of development, China's chemical fiber industry has also made gratifying achievements. In September 4th, the twenty-fifth China International Chemical fiber Conference (Bengbu 2019) opened in the "capital of innovation city", Bengbu. The theme of the conference is "open integration and joint development - the collaborative development of the global chemical fiber industry", aiming to build a new platform for the development of new fiber materials and exchange platform for market applications in the world, and promote the cooperation between the upstream and downstream industries of the new fiber material chain.

The conference was jointly sponsored by China Textile Industry Federation, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, China Textile International Exchange Center and Anhui Fengyuan Group Co., Ltd., supported by Bengbu Municipal People's government, Bengbu investment and foreign cooperation center, business Foreign Affairs Bureau and orrican group.

Duan Xiaoping, chairman of the fiber industry association, Chiang Shi Cheng, Yu Jianyong, member of the Chinese Academy of engineering, Bengbu municipal Party committee secretary, Wang Yingchun, deputy director of the Department of consumer goods industry of the State Ministry of industry and information technology, director of the Department of consumer products industry, National Development and Reform Commission Industry Division, director of the Department of economic prediction of the state information center, and other relevant ministries, committees, associations and leaders of relevant departments of Bengbu, Anhui, and representatives from the textile and chemical industry in nearly twenty countries and regions from the European Union, Japan, Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom, India, China Taiwan, Hongkong and the mainland, as well as experts and scholars from Donghua University, Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, China Textile Research Institute, Taiwan textile industry comprehensive research institute, Germany Aachen University and other professional institutions and research institutes. China Textile Industry Federation Party committee secretary and Secretary General Gao Yong, former president Wang Tiankai, former vice chairman Xu Kunyuan, vice president Li Lingshen, vice president of China Textile Association, China Chemistry

Building bio based materials industry cluster

In his speech, Gao Yong pointed out that China International Chemical fiber conference has always maintained a high degree of concern and influence. The basic support lies in the grasp of the overall development trend of the chemical fiber industry. At present, China's polyester, nylon, regenerated cellulose fiber and recycled recycled chemical fiber and other conventional bulk chemical fiber varieties are differentiated and functionalized, and the technology level is constantly improving, and the products are more in line with the actual needs of downstream. The meeting was held in Bengbu on the basis of better polylactic acid industrialization. It is hoped that our country will make substantial breakthroughs in the field of biological materials in the coming years. We will jointly build up a bio industrial park with influence and foresight ahead of the related production enterprises at home and abroad, and make a new attempt for the transformation and upgrading of the chemical fiber industry, and create a new milestone in the field of biological materials.

In his speech, Wang Yingchun mentioned that in recent years, Bengbu has adhered to the concept of new development and guided by the requirements of high quality development. It has used the industrial strong city as the "No. 1 project" to speed up the construction of the "two centers", focusing on the biologically based Silicon Dual wheel drive, creating a "double billion" industrial cluster, and constantly accelerating the pace of building the "innovation city and material capital". Bio based new material industry is a sunrise industry of green and environmental protection. Over the years, Anhui Fengyuan Group has made full use of the bio based "necking" technology to fully grasp the world's leading production technology of polylactic acid industrial chain, and has built the world's first 1000 ton level PLA fiber production line. At present, Bengbu is relying on the backbone enterprises such as Fengyuan Group to make efforts to build Anhui's important bio based materials and new industrial base, the leading bio based material capital and the international polylactic acid industrial cluster.

According to Li Rongjie, chairman of Anhui Fengyuan Group Co., Ltd., polylactic acid is made from corn starch and straw cellulose. It is the most suitable biomaterial to replace petroleum chemical fiber and petroleum plastic. After more than 20 years of research and development, Fengyuan Group has greatly reduced the production cost of the whole industrial chain of polylactic acid. When the price of cornstarch and other starch materials is about 2000 yuan / ton, the cost of polylactic acid is about 1500 dollars / ton; when the price of corn stalks and straw stalks is 600-700 yuan / ton, the cost of polylactic acid is about 2000 dollars / ton; when the oil is in 40-50 US dollars / barrel, the cost of polylactic acid is higher than that of petroleum chemical fiber and petroleum plastic; when the price of cotton is 2300-2500 dollars / ton, the cost of polylactic acid is lower than that of cotton.

At present, Fengyuan Group has five core businesses: Fengyuan biochemical industry, Fengyuan pharmaceutical, tiger bio, national R & D center, and global marketing system. It has developed polylactic acid fiber, polylactic acid clothing, polylactic acid nonwovens, polylactic acid polyester, poly lactic acid film and film making products. Li Rongjie said: "in the next 10~15 years, Fengyuan Group will build tens of millions of tons of bio chemical, biological, pharmaceutical and biological materials industrial bases, vigorously develop the bio material industry, and strive to realize the utilization and transformation of renewable resources, and become a model of circular economy."

China's macro economy is advancing steadily.

Li Ruoyu, director of the Economic Forecasting Department of the state information center, pointed out in the report on China's macroeconomic situation and policy that China's main macroeconomic indicators in the first half of the year were kept at a reasonable level, and the overall trend of steady progress was extended, which is embodied in four aspects: GDP stability, stable employment, stable material prices and stable balance of payments. Under the pressure of recent Sino US trade friction, China's economy still shows good resilience.

Through the analysis of the global trade climate index compiled by WTO, Li Ruoyu believes that the future growth of China's exports will be faced with the weakening of external demand and the superimposed pressure imposed by the United States plus tariffs. The "surplus of the recession" will not be sustainable. The "false start" effect and the diversification of export markets are the important reasons for better performance than expected. Affected by the downward pressure of the economy, residents' consumption, employment and price fluctuations are slowing down. Meanwhile, the contraction effect caused by weak demand is transmitting to the production end. In terms of policy, we should increase the intensity of counter cyclical adjustment, such as increasing tax reduction and lowering fees, and adjusting the stable monetary policy to loose direction, so as to play a positive role in "steady investment" in capital construction investment.

Interpretation of fiber industry from an international perspective

Fr d d ric Van Houte, director of the European artificial fiber Association, said that in the field of man-made fibres, China's chemical fiber production accounts for 2/3 of the total global production and is in a dominant position, followed by India and Europe. At the same time, consumers' demand for green sustainability is also soaring. Recycling economy has become a new concern for people. With the continuous growth of global textile and fiber production, especially in the past 20 or 30 years, with the emergence of artificial fibers, whether in clothing, household textiles or industrial textiles, the innovation of man-made fibers is the core of the textile value chain. Important innovations include piezoelectric fiber and photovoltaic or conductive fibers. Innovation is not only related to new fibers, textiles and applications, but also to new consumption patterns, production processes and business models.

Hatomi Yoshixianyi, executive vice president and director of the Japan Chemical Fiber Association, analysed the long-term demand of global fiber, the supply and demand forecast of synthetic fiber in 2022, and the challenges faced by the development of the global chemical fiber industry. The three part analyzed the situation of the global chemical fiber industry. He also pointed out that the global chemical fiber industry is facing different challenges. The most important one is the problem of micro plastics, especially marine plastics. For this reason, the Japanese government put forward the blue ocean vision of Osaka. The aim is to get rid of marine plastic wastes by 2050.

S.C.Kapur, Secretary General of India synthetic fiber industry association, introduced the overall development trend and characteristics of India textile chemical fiber industry chain from the global perspective of fiber consumption, synthetic fiber, sustainability and recycling, as well as the status quo of India fiber and government support. In contrast to the global pattern, India cotton textile occupies 50% of the absolute advantage, and polyester is also catching up with the pace of 40%. Healthy GDP growth helps to promote textile consumption, and India's capacity growth is ahead of demand and has great potential for development. The textile industry is promoting steady growth and development in India.

With the rapid development of the world, the fiber industry will face many challenges and opportunities in the next ten years. Andr Wissenberg, vice president of Oricon chemical fiber board, believes that the transformation of chemical fiber industry is imperative and intelligent manufacturing will be the trend. The new automation technology, digital transformation in the production process, sustainable development and recycling of resources will have a disruptive impact on the textile industry.

In the fourth industrial revolution era, the textile and fashion industry will undergo significant changes in products, production and market. Li Changyu, senior director of the chemical fiber industry association of Korea, introduced some of the government's strategic plans formulated by the South Korean government, including support for "speed factors (factories + shops)". The textile and clothing industry adopted the B2C business mode, enabling enterprises to accept customer orders in the shops and automatically customize products through intelligent factories, focusing on high value-added industrial textiles, enhancing the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry by upgrading the industrial structure and facilities, and paying attention to exports to create more "small global giants".

Mayuree Didpakdeechol, honorary president of Thailand chemical fiber industry association, points out that personal protective equipment (PPE) is an important personal guarantee for those engaged in risk work. S-Mark, as a textile safety mark of PPE, is a product of cooperation between Thailand Federation of textile industry, Thailand Textile Association and Thailand work safety and health Union. It will benefit the whole industry chain, namely users, manufacturers and regulators. In the first stage, the S-Mark certification of products will start with fire clothes, antistatic clothing and fireproof thermal insulation clothing. After that, more products such as curtains, gloves, masks, shoes and so on will be added to the certification area.

The textile industry is the main source of income in Pakistan. The Rizwan Afzal Chaudhry, manager of polyester business of Pakistan ICI Co., Ltd. first introduced the development, structure and main advantages of Pakistan polyester fiber industry. Secondly, it expounded the impact of polyester on China's export orientation, and how the downstream textile industry shifted from bulk commodities to more value-added exports. Finally, it discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, and how to achieve greater value and maintain sustainable development for a long time.

Taiwan textile industry takes advantage of R & D and customized production, and has become a global R & D and production center for functional fabrics. Tang Jingwen, a research fellow and leader of Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute, introduced the general situation of Taiwan's textile industry, the latest research and development goals of the research institutes and the direction of its active research and development in the future.

In the high-end interview session, Duan Xiaoping, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation and President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, focus on two themes of science and technology and green, and Chinese Academy of engineering, President of Donghua University, Yu Jianyong, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation, Li Lingshen, chairman of China Textile Industry Association, chairman of China Textile Machinery Association Gu Ping, chairman of Anhui Fengyuan Group Co., Ltd. Li Rongjie, chairman of Xi Wenjie, Suzhou Long Jie special fiber Limited by Share Ltd, Xi Wenjie, etc., from different angles to talk about the development of science and technology development focus of "14th Five-Year" development plan, the relationship between industry university research cooperation and intellectual property protection, the development direction of future functional fiber and textile chemical fiber equipment, and how to deal with the topic of plastic particles.

During the meeting, the Bengbu Municipal People's government, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association and Anhui Fengyuan Group Co., Ltd. jointly signed the strategic cooperation framework for the construction of Anhui Bengbu 100 billion bio based materials industrial park. The three sides indicated that they will establish long-term strategic cooperative relations, fully utilize and give full play to their respective advantages, and jointly promote the development of bio based materials industry.
