Consumer Prices Rose 1.5% In February 2019.

According to the website of the National Bureau of statistics, consumer prices nationwide rose 1.5% in February 2019. Among them, cities rose 1.5%, rural areas rose 1.4%, food prices rose 0.7%, non food prices rose 1.7%, consumer goods prices rose 1.1%, and service prices rose 2.1%.

In February, the national consumer price rose by 1%. Among them, cities rose 1%, rural areas rose 0.9%, food prices rose 3.2%, non food prices rose 0.4%, consumer goods prices rose 1.2%, and service prices rose 0.7%.

   I. Changes in prices of goods and services year-on-year

In February, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 1.2% compared to the same period last year, affecting the CPI (consumer price index) by an increase of about 0.37 percentage points. Among them, fresh fruit prices rose 4.8%, affecting CPI rose by 0.09 percentage points.

Poultry prices rose 3.8%, affecting CPI rose by about 0.05 percentage points; fresh vegetable prices rose 1.7%, affecting CPI rose by 0.05 percentage points; grain prices rose 0.5%, affecting CPI rose by 0.01 percentage points; egg prices dropped 7.4%, affecting CPI dropped by 0.04 percentage points.

The price of aquatic products has dropped by 2.5%, affecting CPI by about 0.05 percentage points, and livestock and meat prices by 0.9%, affecting CPI by 0.04 percentage points (4.8% of pork prices and 0.12 of CPI).

The other seven categories of prices rose six over the same period. Among them, the prices of health care, education, culture, entertainment and housing rose by 2.8%, 2.4% and 2.2% respectively, while the prices of clothing, other articles and services, daily necessities and services rose by 2%, 2% and 1.3% respectively, and the traffic and communications prices dropped 1.2%.

   Two. Price fluctuation of commodities and services

In February, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 2.3%, which affected CPI's rise by about 0.68 percentage points. Among them, the price of fresh vegetables rose by 15.7%, which affected CPI's rise of about 0.41 percentage points, and the price of fresh fruit increased by 5.4%, which affected CPI's rise by about 0.10 percentage points.

The price of aquatic products increased by 4%, which affected the increase of CPI by about 0.07 percentage points. Poultry prices rose by 1.1%, which affected the increase of CPI by about 0.01 percentage points. The price of livestock and meat increased by 0.9%, which affected CPI's rise by about 0.04 percentage points (pork prices rose 0.3%, affecting CPI's rise of 0.01 percentage points).

Egg prices fell by 5.3%, affecting CPI by about 0.03 percentage points.

The other seven categories of prices rose by six. Among them, the prices of education, culture, entertainment, spanportation and communications, and health care increased by 1.3%, 1% and 0.2% respectively; the prices of other goods and services, living, daily necessities and services rose by 0.2%, 0.1% and 0.1% respectively, and the price of clothing decreased by 0.2%.
