According to the market monitoring system, the survey data of 1837 households in 87 counties and cities in 14 provinces showed that as of October 23, 2015, the picking rate of new cotton in the whole country was 65.2%, an increase of 3.1 percentage points compared with that of cotton farmers, which was 5.8 percentage points lower than that in the past four years.

The picking rate was 64.8%; the national selling rate (the selling rate = the cumulative amount of cotton seed sold by cotton growers / accumulated seed picked cotton) was 73.6%, an increase of 13.2 percentage points over the same period last year, an increase of 8.8 percentage points over the normal years of the past four years, of which the mainland sale rate was 27.1%, and the Xinjiang sale rate was 91.3%.

According to the survey of 89 large and medium-sized cotton processing enterprises, as of October 23rd, the surveyed enterprises accumulated 1 million 870 thousand tons of seed cotton and 720 thousand tons of lint cotton.

The average lint percentage is 38.5%, and the average length is 27.67 mm.

It is presumed that the national processing rate (processing rate = the cumulative amount of processed lint / cotton seed cotton purchased by cotton enterprises) is 49.9%, an increase of 7.5 percentage points over the same period last year, which is 1.2 percentage points slower than that in the normal years of the past four years. The sales rate (sales rate = the cumulative sales of cotton lint / cotton seed cotton purchase quantity) is 16%, an increase of 7.5 percentage points over the same period last year, which is 5.7 percentage points slower than that in the normal years of the past four years.

According to the estimated 5 million 816 thousand tons of cotton production in China (the national cotton market monitoring system forecast in August 2015), during the period of -23 October 19th, the national sale of seed cotton was 821 thousand tons of lint cotton, 480 thousand tons of lint were processed, and 236 thousand tons of lint were sold.

As of October 23rd, the total sales of seed cotton and lint cotton 2 million 790 thousand tons increased by 308 thousand tons compared with the same period last year, which is 591 thousand tons less than that in the past four years, including 2 million 506 thousand tons of cotton seed sold in Xinjiang and 1 million 391 thousand tons of cotton linen, an increase of 340 thousand tons compared with the same period last year, a decrease of 375 thousand tons over the normal years of four years, of which 1 million 294 thousand tons of lint were processed in Xinjiang, and a cumulative sale of 446 thousand tons of cotton lint, an increase of 308 thousand tons compared with the same period last year.
