Perhaps you can see now that many sneakers choose to reveal the air cushions containing technology elements, but this is a bold attempt 30 years ago.

In fact, the Nike Air Max 1 we know now is not the first one in the series.

As early as 1985, Nike design and NIKE s vice president for design and special projects Tinker Hatfield designed a manuscript of the original version of Pompidou, which was inspired by the internal steel structure exposed by the Paris Art Center when traveling in Singapore.

"I want to break through that time.

I came up with a new idea, and this new idea is a visual rendering method that can see the sole structure.

However, taking into account the acceptance of the market, Air Max Zero is considered to be too avant-garde in design. Therefore, Tinker Hatfield also drew on the design of another shoe Sock Racer designed by Nike, modified the air cushion design of Air Max Zero, and combined with the advantages of Sock Sock in terms of comfort and performance, officially launched the "1" in 1987.

Since then, the launch of every new version of the Air Max series has been accompanied by constant adjustments in performance, shoe design and color matching, becoming the star product of Nike.

In order to commemorate the Air Max 1, which was born in March 26th, 1987, Nike decided to set the March 26th annual "Air Max Day".

Before the advent of this year's "Air Max Day", Nike's design team turned out the Air Max Zero sketches designed by Tinker Hatfield 30 years ago from their historical manuscripts, which was then created by designer Graeme McMillan.

In order to get a better understanding of the original intention of Tinker Hatfield, Graeme McMillan also specially consulted him.

In terms of appearance, the new Air Max Zero basically respects the design style of the original, but Graeme McMillan has added Nike's latest Air Max 1 Ultra Moire soles, which has the advantage of reducing the size while guaranteeing its support. Now Nike's breathable monofilament fabric on this shoe upper has also had revolutionary changes over 30 years ago.
