"Online shopping Friday" was put forward by the Ministry of industry and trade of Vietnam (MOIT) and was finally approved by the authorities.

The festival was organized jointly by Vecita and Vecom.
In this regard, they launched www.onlinefriday.vn and www.ngaymuasamtructuyen.vn as an activity website.
This large-scale e-commerce promotion activity has aroused interest of many large enterprises, including Google, VP bank, Xigong Commercial Bank of Vietnam and Vietnam Telecom.
In the next few years, the first Friday of December will be the holding day of Vietnam's online shopping Friday.
