With the progress of science and civilization, the art and design methods of human beings are also developing.

The imagination of fashion designers quickly broke through the confinement of ideology and released them in a variety of forms.

The novelty, treacherous, abstract visual image and extreme color appear in the surprising contrast, so we have to adjust our eyes to adapt to the new scenery.

The five principles to be followed in clothing design are as follows:

1. Unification

Principle

:

Unification (Unity), also known as "consistency", is similar to the meaning of reconciliation.

When designing clothing, harmony is often used as a means to achieve a unified purpose.

In good design, the arrangement of elements, materials, colors, lines and so on between parts and parts of clothing and part and the whole should be consistent.

If these elements change too much, they will destroy the same effect.

The most common way to form a unified system is to repeat, such as repeated use of the same color, lines, etc., can create a unified feature.

2, the principle of aggravation:

Exacerbation (Emphasis) is "emphasis" or "key design".

Although the principle of unity is emphasized in design, the result of over unification often tends to make the design dull, and it is better to make a particular part of the image so as to create interest centers in design.

This key design can be made use of color contrast (such as black belt on the red belt), material matching (such as woolen coat with fur collar), line arrangement (such as the opening from the neckline to the bottom edge of the dress), tailoring features (such as the design of shoulder yoke and princess line), and the use of accessories (such as the black velvet cheongsam wearing a gold necklace) and so on.

However, the above emphasized methods should not be used in conjunction with the same number of methods, and should not be emphasized too much. The beautiful part of the wearer should be chosen as the center of stress.

3, balance

Principle

:

Balance (Balance) is the principle of balance when the design is stable and static.

The equilibrium can be divided into symmetrical equilibrium and asymmetric equilibrium in two ways.

The former is based on the center of the human body, and the two parts are exactly the same.

This style of dress has a sense of integrity and solemnity, but it is more rigid.

The latter is a sense of balance, that is, although the design of the left and right parts of the garment is different, there is a sense of balance, often designed by oblique line (such as the front of the cheongsam) to achieve the goal.

This design gives people the feeling of elegance and flexibility.

In addition, attention should also be paid to the balance between upper body and lower part of clothing, so as not to overburden or lighten up.

4, the principle of proportionality:

The ratio (Proportion) refers to the distribution of the size of each part of clothing. It seems appropriate, such as the relationship between the size of the pocket and the size of the garment, the width of the collar, etc.

The golden ratio is more suitable for clothing design.

In addition, attention should be paid to the size and proportion of accessories and accessories.

5, prosody

Principle

:

Prosody (Rhythm) refers to the repetition of laws, resulting in gentle motion.

For example, deep and shallow colors, large and small shapes, such as rhythms, lines, colors, regular repetitive repetitions, and drifting rhythm on clothes, are commonly used in design.
