There are many methods to prevent pilling, and the methods before and during dyeing are changed fibre The structure, composition and performance of the yarn, the spinning process and fabric structure of the yarn, the dyeing and finishing process, etc., but we are generally used to the bleaching and dyeing finishing of cloth and clothing, and the methods are as follows:


1 Biological polishing (biological enzyme finishing)


Biopolishing is a finishing process that uses cellulase to improve the surface of cotton fabric, so as to achieve a lasting anti pilling effect and increase the smoothness and softness of the fabric. Biopolishing removes the micro fibers protruding from the yarn surface, greatly reducing the fuzz on the fabric surface, making it smooth and clean without pilling (Enzymatic hydrolysis and mechanical impact together remove the fuzz and fiber ends on the surface of the fabric, making the fabric fabric clearer and brighter). Practice has proved that this method has a lasting effect on reducing fuzzing and pilling, because the fiber ends are removed instead of being covered in the original place, but it should be noted that this method will cause certain loss of fabric strength and partial weightlessness


Blending of cotton and polyester/cellulose fibers spin Using cellulase; Wool or polyester/wool blended fabrics shall be polished with suitable biological protease. Therefore, the process conditions must be strictly controlled, otherwise it will cause enzyme inactivation or serious damage, serious weightlessness, and large quantities of fabrics are not suitable (with vat difference), so some knitting fabric dyeing and finishing plants are unwilling to apply this method.


2 Mild shrinking method (mainly used for wool fabrics, such as sweaters and woolen knitwear)


After mild shrinking of knitwear such as woolen sweater, the root of its wool fiber is felt in the yarn, and the fibers are entangled with each other, thus enhancing the friction coefficient between fibers, making it difficult for fibers to slip out of the yarn when subjected to friction, thus reducing pilling of fabrics such as woolen sweater. At present, worsted sweaters and other fabrics are generally slightly shrunk to improve their pilling resistance. The technological process is as follows: sweater soaking - mild shrinking - cleaning - dehydration - drying.


3 Resin Finishing method


① Principle


Resin is a variety of polymers, which can wrap a layer of wear-resistant resin film on the fiber surface by making use of the function of resin to form a cross chain network film on the fiber surface, and this resin film can weaken the slippage of the fiber; At the same time, the tree fingers are evenly interlocked and condensed on the surface of the yarn, so that the fiber end is adhered to the yarn, and it is not easy to pilling when rubbing, so the pilling resistance of the sweater can be effectively improved.


② Resin selection


The selected resin must have a greater adhesive force with the fiber, and at the same time, it should also have a certain strength. After finishing, it should have good elasticity and a smooth and non greasy feel. The adhesive film will not affect the color fastness and gloss of the dye. No irritation to human skin. No odor; The tree finger has stable performance, convenient application, reliability and low price.


At present, ordinary resins (acrylic resin self crosslinked tree fingers) can no longer meet the high requirements of customers for fabrics, because some anti fuzzing and pilling agents (resins) have problems such as the hand feeling becomes hard after treatment, the strength decreases, the color of the treated fabric changes, and some resins must also be baked at high temperature. A new generation of anti fuzzing and pilling agent has been gradually developed and phased out abroad. Its main representative products are polyurethane based polymers and organic silicone resins. Now such products have been produced in China and have been widely used in production Knitwear Anti pilling finishing.
