At that time (July 2011), the spot price of per ton of silk dropped to 360 thousand yuan.

At the same time, it once hit a record high, breaking 130 thousand yuan / ton.

Reporters learned from the relevant departments, cocoon silk market this year remained basically stable, "expected silkworm rearing 116 thousand and 800, spring Cocoon Output 5600 tons, basically the same as last year."

Labor shortage, silkworm farmers reduced by 30%

According to the survey, the total area of Hangzhou's mulberry garden is 200 thousand mu, a decrease of 1.4% compared with the same period of last year. "Ten days sericulture", shortening feeding time

Before, from silkworm breeding to fresh cocoon sale, it usually takes about 30 days.

During this period, let silkworms eat well and sleep well.

People who have raised silkworms know that this is a meticulous work. If they do not pay much attention, the loss will be great.

In order to improve the labor shortage situation, a new method of breeding was developed in Chunan. It was called "ten days sericulture."

Zhang Jianhua, a Tonglu cocoon silk general company, said, "the ten day sericulture law" refers to the separate feeding of small silkworms and large silkworms.

The small silkworm reared mainly from the silkworms in the village and sold to silkworms at the age of four. The average farmers only raised large silkworms, and each time the silkworms reared in their own homes for ten days.

The "ten days sericulture method" has effectively solved the practical problems such as lack of technology, lack of facilities and labor shortage in the rearing of small silkworms, and changed the traditional mode of raising farmers' whole age, which is a major breakthrough in production management mode.

Chunan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture said that the number of 35 thousand counties is expected to be promoted this year. Other counties (cities) are also actively promoting.

According to the average cocoon price of 2000 yuan /50kg, the sericultural farmers actually increased their income by 942 thousand yuan.

"Each silkworm egg can save 90 yuan, saving a total cost of 517 thousand yuan.

Total savings increased by 1 million 459 thousand yuan.

Cocoon silk market fluctuates greatly, affecting silkworm farmers' income

The relevant person in charge of the city's Silkworm Association analyzed the single industrial structure based on cocoon production, with the direction of foreign trade as the main business, plus decades of unchanged.

However, this year's market is favored by many people in the industry.

According to the analysis of the insiders, with the enhancement of the acceptance of silk products in our domestic market, the competitiveness of silk enterprises will be strengthened, and the demand for raw silk will increase.

A typical example is that the rise of the silk quilt has increased the consumption of cocoons. Last year, the amount of cocoons consumed by China's cocoons accounted for nearly 20% of the total cocoon volume.

At the same time, due to weather and other reasons, some areas of cocoons may be reduced.

According to the relevant personages of the city's Silkworm Association, from the domestic situation, the reduction of Silkworm Cocoon Output in Guangxi is already a foregone conclusion due to the effects of a relatively low temperature and rainy weather this year. It is expected to decrease by a number of years compared with that in the past 2006 years, and decrease by nearly two batches in 2007 and silkworm production. At least 1.5 to 20 thousand tons of silkworm cocoon output will be reduced.

These people also remind that cocoon harvesting and drying enterprises directly affect the quality of cocoon silk.
