Italy'S First Tax Evasion Case D&G Tax Evasion
The case of tax evasion involving Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce may be the first precedent in Italy. The Supreme Court of Italy reopened the case this week. In April last year, the court declared that the trial of Dolce &Gabbana innocent was invalid.
The high court said that tax evasion under the condition of income declaration is a criminal offence. This is the first case published by the Italy court.
In the trial, the High Court indicated that if the declaration of personal income was found to have criminal intent, the result of dishonesty would be obtained.

The Supreme Court's latest decision means that the case will be accepted by a new judge. Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce are charged with $562 million in tax evasion. The retrial will shortly take place.
