Fiberglass is used in power insulation and heat insulation fabrics.

After determining that domestic industries suffered substantial injury, the India anti dumping and joint tariff administration (DGAD) recommended 40.9% anti-dumping duties on glass fibres and articles imported from China.

According to the application of domestic industry, the anti-dumping and joint customs administration of India carried out anti-dumping investigations on glass fibers imported from China.

The rate of anti-dumping duties will range from 7.6% to 40.9%, according to the CIF value of products imported from China.

During the period of investigation (from April 2008 to September 2009), the General Administration of anti-dumping and joint customs of India found that the import of glass fiber from China increased from 5800 tons in the 2005-06 fiscal year to 25831 tons.

India has imposed anti-dumping duties on fabrics, yarns, nylon tire cord fabrics and several chemicals imported from China.

A country usually launches an anti-dumping investigation to determine whether domestic industry is seriously hurt by the sharp rise in cheap imports.

As a measure of confrontation, they levy anti-dumping duties according to the multilateral mechanism of the world trade organization.

The anti-dumping duties also ensure fair trade practices and create the same level of competition for domestic producers and foreign producers and exporters, so as to avoid dumping.

With protective tariff subsidies, anti-dumping duties vary from product to country.
