In June 18, 2010, Taiwan issued the G/TBT/N/TPKM/87 Bulletin: the draft law for the inspection of infant clothing and costume accessories.


The main contents are: textile processing usually must add various dyes, auxiliaries and finishing agents. These preparations may contain harmful chemicals.

When such chemicals in textiles accumulate to a certain amount, they may have harmful effects on the skin and even health.

In order to protect the health and safety of babies, the standard Inspection Bureau (BSMI) intends to manage baby clothing and clothing accessories after consultation with interested parties.


The date of approval of this circular is August 1, 2010, and the effective date is January 1, 2011. The deadline for assessment is 30 days from the date of self reporting.
